Bill Dorgan, PA-C, received his undergraduate education at Philadelphia University in 2011. It was then he learned he wanted to be a physician assistant through work with the physician assistant program faculty to establish a chapter of the Global Medical Brigades, which aims to provide medical care to underserved countries. He was then accepted to Philadelphia University’s PA program and went on to graduate as president of his class in 2014.
Upon graduation, Bill moved to be with his wife in North Carolina and accepted a position in emergency medicine through the University of North Carolina Health Care. After four enjoyable years, he and his wife decided to return home where he continued to practice emergency medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Through his experience, Bill found true passion in general orthopaedics and orthopaedic trauma, which is when he made the specialty change and joined Delaware Orthopaedics in July 2020. He primarily works under the supervision of Dr. James Rubano with a subspecialty of primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as general orthopaedic and trauma care. Bill remains a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Physician Assistant Orthopaedic Society.
