Patrick J. Ward III, M.D.

Biography

Dr. Ward was born in Pittsburgh but moved to Malvern, PA as a child. He graduated from Great Valley High School and was a two sport captain. He attended Johns Hopkins University where he made Dean’s List multiple semesters, played on the basketball team and graduated with a double major in economics and biochemistry. He went onto complete his residency at the University of Pittsburgh where he served as the administrative chief resident.

Dr. Ward completed his Fellowship training at OrthoCarolina were he received extensive training in cutting edge foot and ankle orthopaedics, participated in the care of numerous professional and collegiate athletes, and trained with developers of multiple widely used orthopaedic systems including the Wright Medical total ankle replacement. Following this, Dr. Ward practiced in the Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania participating in the training of both residents and fellows. Dr. Ward is Board Certified in Orthopaedics and treats all variety of foot and ankle conditions. He has special expertise in total ankle arthroplasty, treatment of sports related injuries and arthroscopy, percutaneous Achilles repair, minimally invasive techniques, trauma and treatment of complex deformity.

Dr. Ward and his wife Lauren, who is from West Chester, PA, made the decision to return to the Delaware Valley to be closer to family. He joined Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists in October 2021 and is currently accepting new patients!
