Q:  When should I see a foot and ankle specialist?

You should seek evaluation if you have persistent pain, swelling, instability, or difficulty walking that does not improve with rest or basic care.

Q:  Do all foot and ankle conditions require surgery?

No, many conditions can be treated with non-surgical options such as bracing, physical therapy, or medication. Surgery is only recommended when necessary.

Q:  What is recovery like after foot and ankle surgery?

Recovery varies depending on the procedure, but many minimally invasive techniques allow for faster healing and a quicker return to daily activities.

Q:  What types of injuries do you commonly treat?

Dr. Ward frequently treats sports-related injuries, fractures, tendon injuries, and degenerative conditions affecting the foot and ankle, including injuries in high-level athletes.

Q:  What is Lapiplasty® and how is it different from traditional bunion surgery?

Lapiplasty® is an advanced 3D bunion correction procedure that addresses the root cause of the deformity by correcting the bone in all three dimensions. This approach helps improve alignment, stability, and reduces the risk of recurrence compared to traditional bunion surgery.
