Lance Edwards, PA

Biography

Lance Edwards joined Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists in 2025. Lance is no stranger to Delaware — he grew up in New Castle and attended William Penn High School. He later graduated from Seton Hill University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science, where he was awarded the Excellence in Health Science award at Convocation.

While at Seton Hill, Lance was a dedicated student-athlete and member of the university’s football team, playing linebacker. He was also actively involved in campus life, serving as a Resident Assistant, mentor, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) leader, and tutor.

Following his undergraduate studies, Lance earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Carlow University in 2025. While being in the PA program, he worked in Residence Life as a Graduate Residence Hall Director and maintained active membership in the National Society of Black Physician Assistants (NSBPA).

Lance’s interest in orthopaedics stems from his personal experiences with athletics and sports-related injuries. At Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists, he works primarily alongside Dr. Akul Patel, specializing in disorders of the spine.

In his free time, Lance is an active volunteer at his local church, where he serves as a Youth Leader and is dedicated to mentoring and supporting young members of his community.
